Short bio:  Born and raised in Colorado, Cory Montalvo's work is informed by his passions for storytelling, identity, and retrofuturism. In 2017, Cory founded with community the Youth Empowerment Broadcasting Organization (YEBO), a program that uses pop-culture and media production to support youth with surfacing, exploring, and defining their identities. His previous roles include dean of students and culture, K-5 teacher and paraprofessional, and site coordinator for Reading Partners. In 2014, Cory was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to South Africa. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado Denver with a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing, and a minor in Ethnic Studies.
