When Moonshot Fellows are ready to take their program to the next stage, we’re ready to support them with a full-time Program Launcher Residency to empower and sustain their launch.

WHY A RESIDENCY?

Without a full-time pathway after the part-time, year-long Fellowship, Fellows…

Run the risk of burning out or lacking capacity and time to be fully developed in their idea and leadership.
Feel the pressure to forgo salary or take on additional jobs that allow for financial stability, but do not allow for a role that allows them to sustainably develop their leadership and grow their organization.
Lose momentum due to the limited capacity they have working on opening a new program.
Miss critical connections with key stakeholders as well as the skill and knowledge development to successfully operate and lead an organization.

The Moonshot Program Launcher Residency was created to mitigate these challenges, and provide the intensive support, financial resources, and on-ramp needed to successfully and sustainably launch an education nonprofit in Metro Denver.

Moonshot Fellows are eligible for the Program Launcher Residency if they have completed the Fellowship, have launched or are ready to launch their organization, piloted their model, demonstrated demand for their offering, and have some level of community support (either through partnership interest or funding).

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM LAUNCHER RESIDENCY* ENTAIL?

A few examples of our programming topics include:
- Finances: setting up robust accounting systems, internal controls & fiscal policies
- Fundraising: creating a long-term fundraising strategy and database management
- Strategic thinking: developing an agile 1-3 year strategic plan
- Governance: creating board recruitment strategies & implementing strong governance practices
- Management: hiring and managing a team and contractors
- Program Evaluation: creating a strong program evaluation plan and cycles for continuous improvement
