After ten years of proving that community-rooted leadership drives lasting change, we’re proud to share Moonshot’s new 5-year strategic plan — a people-powered roadmap shaped by months of listening, reflection, and collaboration with Fellows, alumni, youth, and partners across Colorado.
This plan outlines how we are deepening and expanding the work that has defined Moonshot from the beginning:
Recruiting and developing a strong and diverse pipeline of leaders committed to equity and community transformation.
Sustaining leaders in positions of influence for the long haul, across youth-serving systems and sectors.
Creating Conditions for leaders to thrive — from The Station’s shared workspace to cross-sector partnerships, wellness supports, and community-designed infrastructure that helps leaders build and sustain impact beyond a single program or role.
These priorities are about building an ecosystem where equity-driven leaders have power, resources, and community to transform every system that touches youth. Schools, clinics, housing orgs, and youth-serving spaces all working in greater alignment and powered by leaders who have the support they need to take bold ideas from vision to reality.
The stakes have never been higher — inequities persist in youth-serving systems and the leaders closest to those young people continue to face the steep barriers. Our next five years are about meeting that urgency and investing forwarding, with our community by our side.
By 2030, we’re aiming for:
85% of alumni continuing to work in youth-serving roles — and thriving in them
80% advancing into influential positions where they shape strategy, budgets, and policy
200+ leader community hub at The Station
60% of alumni-led innovations sustained and operating in community
