This is your chance to invest in leaders staying in the work.
At Moonshot, we know change lasts when leaders do. The leaders closest to community — the ones who know firsthand the names, the stories, the realities, the needs— are the ones best positioned to create the conditions where young people can thrive.
But staying in this work isn’t easy. It takes stability. It takes community. It takes support. That’s why Moonshot doesn’t end our support when the fellowship does.
Through our Direct to Fellows micro-grant fund, we keep showing up — fueling alumni as they test new ideas and sustain the work their communities are asking for.
These microgrants may be small, but the ripple effect isn’t.
These micro-grants helped alums:
Launch cultural summer camps that build pride, identity, and connection for AANHPI youth.
Pilot community-centered healing spaces for educators of color.
Create youth-designed cross-cultural spaces where youth shared stories, built belonging, strengthened solidarity, and found joy in connection.
Host 5280 Freedom Summer School, a rich, intergenerational learning experience rooted in Black liberation.
Support their own leadership, from network-building to professional growth to expanding grassroots initiatives (it even helped one team get all the way to a conference in Nova Scotia!)
Equip Colorado Youth Congress with hybrid tech to bring youth together across rural, urban, and tribal regions — deepening connection statewide.
These are just a few examples of what happens when leaders get the support to keep going.
Capacity grows. Innovation grows. Communities grow.
If you believe in leadership that reflects the communities it serves…
If you believe in leaders getting the support they need to stay in for the long haul…
If you believe in communities designing their own solutions…
Make your Colorado Gives Day gift and keep these leaders leading.
Every dollar up to $10,000 will be matched by a generous supporter — doubling your impact.
